My mom met the
artisans and she was able to buy some pieces from them. The artisans are
native Nicaraguan Indians that work in remote areas, the whole village make
the pottery out of the mud in their village, they do not use electric kilns,
they make a huge fire and place the pieces inside the fire to bake. They also
use vegetable dyes they make themselves out of leaves and fruits to get the
muted colors seen in the ceramics. The pieces are meant to be primitive. So
you will see nicks, and worn edges. They look as if they were found in some
ancient temple since they are done in the same manner for centuries.
FOR DECORATIVE USE ONLY/DO NOT FILL WITH WATER/ YOU CAN PUT SILK FLOWERS OR FRUITS IN THE BOWL FOR DECORATION OR JUST AS IS |
